Astronova privacy addendum

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This addendum is part of the Yelkovan Privacy Policy and covers what is specific to the game Astronova: Space Chase. The controller, your rights and how to make a request are set out in the main policy.

In short

  • The game plays offline, without an account. Signing in is optional.
  • If you sign in, your save is backed up to your account. Your pilot name, score, character and flag are written to the leaderboards, which anyone can see.
  • The game shows ads through Google AdMob and offers optional purchases through RevenueCat; Apple or Google takes the payment.
  • There is no analytics or crash-reporting tool in the game.
  • You can delete your account from inside the game or by email.

1. Publisher

Astronova is developed and published by Yelkovan (Yiğit Özdemir).

2. Playing without signing in

Your progress, in-game coins and emeralds, inventory, stats and settings (such as sound, haptics, language and notification preference) are stored only on your device. No account data reaches us in that case. The ad and purchase services work whether or not you sign in (see 5 and 6).

3. Signing in with Apple or Google (optional)

If you sign in, Google Firebase Authentication creates a user ID (UID) and stores the email address and name passed by the sign-in provider. With Sign in with Apple, Apple may hide your real email and pass on a private relay address instead. The name from the sign-in provider may be suggested as your pilot name; you can change it as you like.

Once you sign in, your save is synced to a record linked to your account in Google Cloud Firestore and merged with your progress on any other device where you sign in with the same account. The record contains: your pilot name, coin and emerald balances, inventory (characters, flags, skills), whether banner ads are removed, scores, stats, campaign progress, milestones, daily challenge streak and purchase transaction IDs. Under the database's security rules, only you can read or write this record through the game.

4. Leaderboards (public)

If you are signed in, your best Classic score is written to the All-time board and your Daily Run score to that day's board. Each row holds your pilot name, score, equipped character, flag and the time it was updated, and is stored under your account's user ID (UID). These rows are visible to everyone who plays the game. Your email address never appears on the leaderboards. You don't have to use your real name as your pilot name.

5. Ads (Google AdMob)

The game shows banner ads and optional rewarded ads. Watching a rewarded ad is always your choice. You can remove banner ads for good with in-game emeralds.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob processes data such as device model, operating system, app information, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, and ad interactions.

  • Android: AdMob may use the device's advertising ID. You can reset or delete it in your device settings under Privacy → Ads.
  • iOS: the game does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites (it shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt), so it cannot access the device's advertising identifier (IDFA). Ad measurement uses Apple's SKAdNetwork, which produces aggregated reports.

How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

6. In-app purchases (RevenueCat)

The game sells consumable emerald packs. Apple App Store or Google Play takes the payment; your card details are never passed to us or to RevenueCat. RevenueCat manages purchases: it receives an anonymous customer ID created by the game, the product bought and the store transaction details. That anonymous ID is not linked to your sign-in account. To make sure emeralds are never lost or credited twice, transaction IDs are kept on your device and, if you are signed in, in your cloud save.

7. Notifications

If you turn on daily reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No data is sent to a server for this, and no remote (push) notification service is used. You can turn reminders off in the game's settings or in your device settings.

8. What the game doesn't use

  • There is no analytics or crash-reporting software (SDK) in the game.
  • The game does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location (GPS).

10. Retention and deletion

Data linked to your account is kept until you delete the account. How to delete it and what is removed: Astronova account and data deletion. Deleting your account does not delete the local progress on your device; that is removed when you uninstall the game.

11. Children

Astronova is an arcade game for a general audience; its App Store age rating is 9+. The game is not directed at children under 13, and signing in is optional. The general rules on children are in the main policy.
